Back-to-back Queensland Junior Surf Lifesaving Champions!

Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park SLSC have now won back-to-back Queensland Junior Surf Lifesaving Titles, the club amassed 241 points to convincingly beat Maroochydore 172, Alexandra Headland and Northcliffe both on 166 points.

The Juniors better known as the Burleigh Barracudas performed at their peak all weekend thanks to their coach Ty Dowker who has also been nominated for coach of the which will be announced soon. Not only did the team perform well but also showed great sportsmanship towards the other competitors.

A record was set by the club in winning all male and female individual nipper board races, U11 Grant Harris, Emily Meuwissen, U12 Sean French, Prue Davies, U13 Liam Wyper, Rachel Barker.

U11 Grant (Hurricane) Harris and U12 Prue (Pruedinator) Davies took out the Iron, Swim and Board titles. Prue has now won these races 2 years in a row.

Sean French and Rachel Barker also have now won the board title 2 years in a row. U13 Female Catherine Eckersley was voted by the team as the competitor of the carnival,after placing 3rd in the flags, finalist in all team events, part of the All Age Relay, making the board final and the semi final in the Iron, swim and beach sprint. The win was celebrated by the team well into the night at Underwater World.

Next year we will be going for three in a row at Emu Park.
