| Our New Beach Club Bar plus a little bit of history |
|
Burleigh lifesavers, Beach Club members and the like, we need your patronage for our NEW BEACH CLUB BAR, to build a financial platform to finance our proposed NEW CLUBHOUSE. Some pieces of history have come down or been renovated to make way. Firstly, 100 club photos have been put in storage, 3 photos are on loan to the Brisbane Museum, if you are in Bris visitb the display at City Hall. Secondly down came Terry’s Tower which was formally named the Paul Gamin Tower in honour of Burleigh’s popular councillor and was officially opened by Mayor Lex Bell in 1988. The next attack was on the old secretary's, captain's and committee's meeting rooms of the 1930’s clubhouse. With the removal of the internal old brick walls and the insertion of some large glass windows and doors, it is a different place. The framework of the new BAR is in place so fit yourself into the picture and you can not wait to be part of it. Cheers,
The end of an era... the Tower comes down. ![]() ![]()
...and the start of another: our new bar takes shape!
