We have now received our Development Approval from the Council. It was an extensive application and at times extremely frustrating but we knew that what the Club wanted and needed would eventually be approved as the reports necessary for this approval confirm that our proposed building was achievable.

The time taken to obtain the approval ultimately benefited the Club in that it enabled us to amend our plans from the original ground and first floor concept to that of including a basement, which resulted in the building maximising the use of the site. In addition to this the time factor further worked to our advantage with our substantial donation from Peter Sherwood and the ability then to obtain the $693,000 grant from the Queensland Government.

With approvals and funding for the whole development now in place, the easy part comes with the building.
