Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club was formally founded in 1923. Since then we have developed and grown as an integral Surf Life Saving Club on the Gold Coast, which now has in excess of 1000 members.
In this past 2010/2011 season it is estimated that nearly 100,000 people visited Burleigh Beach. Our volunteer patrolling members put in 6,699 hours of their own time to watch, protect and save these visitors which resulted in another fatality free season between the flags at Burleigh.

The Club has lodged a material Change of Use Application with the Gold Coast City Council seeking approval for a third level area for Surf Club facilities covering a floor area in excess of 200m2 and a balcony/deck of approximately 50m2.
This level will be constructed over the existing restaurant/dining area and will enable the Club to offer Members further improved and state of the art facilities for training, workshops and club seminars. The Application was lodged in May 2012 and an approval time of six to eight months is envisaged.
The approval and subsequent development will enable the Club to upgrade the northern exterior and refurbish the restaurant/dining/bar facilities to develop a new vibrant and architecturally appealing third level that will be an architectural statement on the fabulous Burleigh Beach.

It’s on again our 4th Annual Breaka Burleigh Ocean Swim to be held on Sunday the 21st of October 2012. The event will
comprise a 1km and 2km ocean swim, a 400m Dash for Cash and this year we have introduced a swim for under 8’s to under 10’s being our Mighty Midgets 300m fun swim.
