Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club was formally founded in 1923. Since then we have developed and grown as an integral Surf Life Saving Club on the Gold Coast, which now has in excess of 1000 members.

In this past 2010/2011 season it is estimated that nearly 100,000 people visited Burleigh Beach. Our volunteer patrolling members put in 6,699 hours of their own time to watch, protect and save these visitors which resulted in another fatality free season between the flags at Burleigh.

The Breaka Burleigh Ocean Swim was held on Sunday the 23rd October 2011 for its 3rd year in a row.

Our Club is proceeding with a material Change of Use Application through the Gold Coast City Council to obtain approval to construct a third level area and balcony on the roof of the restaurant. To view our concept plans click here.

The series is held over 5 days - 16/10/11, 13/11/11, 18/12/11, 15/1/12 with the final event being held on Australia day (26/1/12). All races will begin at 6am and run to approximately 8:30am. The event involves competitors completing a 400m swim followed by a 3.84km run.
