Welcome to Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club

Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club was formally founded in 1923. Since then we have developed and grown as an integral Surf Life Saving Club on the Gold Coast, which now has in excess of 1200 members.

In this past 2012/2013 season it is estimated that nearly 135,500 people visited Burleigh Beach. Our volunteer patrolling members put in 7,987 hours of their own time to watch, protect and save these visitors which resulted in another fatality free season between the flags at Burleigh.

This past season saw our patrolling members successfully complete over 70 rescues and treat members of the public in almost 515 first aid cases, 15 of these being major first aid.

2014 Breaka Burleigh Ocean Swim

The Burleigh Ocean Swim will be held on Sunday the 26th October 2014 for its 6th year in a row. It comprises a swim of 2km and 1km with a Dash for Cash for our elite swimmers and a 400m swim for our Mighty Midgets (8 - 10years). The event is open to all members of the public who are split up into relevant age categories with the open elite category eligible to win cash prizes total in excess of $5,000.

Ocean swimming events are forever increasing in Queensland and there is no better venue for a swim to be conducted at Burleigh Heads Beach and having its back drop as the Burleiigh Heads National Park and Surfers Paradise skyline. The event is arranged by Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club and for any further enquiries, please feel free to email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Our Sponsors

We would like to recognise the generous support of our sponsors and Club supporters. We could not provide the high level of life saving activities on Burleigh Beach without them and we thank them for their continued support. We ask that Club members in return support them wherever possible to show your appreciation.

The Dulux Project with BHMP

Our Club has been fortunate to be one of the recipients of the Dulux Surf Club Project. This project sees Dulux provide 100 litres of exterior paint to our Club to enable us to renovate our Club to ensure that our existing Club and the renovations to occur in the next 12 months tie in with the rest of the building and our exterior surfaces are protected from the harsh Australian conditions.

We thank Dulux for their involvement and look forward to the renovation of our Club and trust our members support those that support us. Buy Dulux – You won’t be disappointed.
